Make the Connection & Put Collaboration into Action!

Are you heading towards a new direction, and looking for new insights into your strengths? The West Midlands Challenge may just be the answer you’re looking for!

Now in its 4th successful year, we wanted to bring something special to the region. So, for the first time ever we’re introducing a team of ‘wild cards’ to the West Midlands Challenge.

How does it work?

Your organisation can submit as many Wild Card applicants as you wish (although if submitting 6 you may want a team of your own!) and each will be put into a newly formed team of other Wild Card applicants from organisations across the region.

Details of wild card teams will be shared close to the challenge date. This will add a further dimension to the overall learning and development from the day, as wild card applicants may have never met each other before which adds to the reality of everyday life when tasked to work on a project which involves stakeholders from a range of different organisations.

A unique learning and personal development, with an opportunity to experience, new ways of working, risks and challenges involved in delivering successful public sector services. The wild card selection offers a fantastic chance for aspiring or newly appointed managers to gain exposure to issues outside their normal work giving them a taste of senior management within local government.

A successful collaboration!

The wild card submission is open to any area of the public sector. Participants will spend the day as the management team of a fictional local authority, encountering many of the tasks that a real corporate team deals with. Whilst this is primarily a development opportunity, teams will be competing to be crowned ‘Best team’ in the region.

A fantastic development opportunity.

By far the best day of professional development I have ever done.

The Challenge will give your staff the ability to develop skills they didn’t realise they had, pushing them outside of their comfort zone in a safe, but pressurised environment.
